The VIDAS Listeria monocytogenes II (LMO2) test is an automated enzyme-linked fluorescent immunoassay for the detection of Listeria monocytogenes in foods. Test portions are enriched in order to increase the number of organisms to the detectable limit of the assay, approximately 10 organisms/mL. Once the automated assay is complete, a positive or negative result is generated. A positive result is presumptive for L. monocytogenes and must be confirmed by cultural procedures outlined in the Bacteriological Analytical Manual (BAM).
