Analysis is performed by fractionation with two-dimensional TLC followed by acid digestion and reaction with molybdate to measure total phosphorus for each fraction at 310 nm. This method is semiquantitative for phosphatidyl-choline (PC), phosphatidylethanolamine (PE), phosphatidylinositol (PI), phosphatidic acid (PA), lysophosphatidylcho-line (LPC), and lysophosphatidylethyanolamine (LPE). Applicable to all animal or vegetable lecithin preparations.
