The method determines the iodine value (IV) for triglyceride-based oils and fats using pre-calibrated Fourier transform near infrared (FT-NIR) spectrometers with neat sampling in disposable glass vials. Test samples with catalyst are filtered prior to analysis SCOPE This method is applicable to triglyceride oils and fats having IV from 0.2–142.
