This method is used for the determination of α-amino nitrogen in sugar beet brei. The method is applicable to aluminium sulphate filtrates. Defecation with aluminium sulphate is possible, providing a double beam photometer for measurement of absorbancy is utilised. The inherent colour of the aluminium clarified sample liquid is compensated by measuring its corresponding absorbancy in the reference cell of the double beam photometer.
