The sample in solvent is passed through a chromatographic column and the hydrocarbons re-covered from the effluent by removal of solvent. Applicable to the determination of saturated hydrocarbons in glycerides. This is a joint AOCS-Association of Official Analytical Chemists (AOAC) method (References, 1 and 2).
