This method describes a procedure for the quantitative determination of both free and bound, (total), gossypol and methoxy-gossypol in glanded and glandless cottonseed, cottonseed meats, and cottonseed meal samples, as the sum of the (+) and (–)-isomers, using HPLC. Applicable to decorticated cottonseed, cottonseed meats, and ground extracted meal samples.
