This method determines the free fatty acids in the oil removed from the seed by petroleum ether extraction (see AOCS Laboratory Safety). Applicable to cottonseed oil extracted according to Method Aa 4-38 or oils obtained from dehulled and ground cottonseed meats following the extraction condition as described in Method Aa 4-38.
